Harley Davidson’s partnership with Hero MotoCorp has started bearing fruits with the revelation of the X 440 Roadster.
The Harley Davidson X 440 Roadster has been revealed and the India launch will follow soon. Harley Davidson joined hands with Hero MotoCorp back in 2020 and their first product was slated to be revealed in 2023. The X 440 Roadster is that bike which has kick-started the production-ready motorcycles from this JV. It oozes a proper old XR roadster silhouette that became mad popular back in the day. In our market, it will go up against the like of the iconic retro cruiser bikes from Royal Enfield. Here are the details of the Harley Davidson X 440 Roadster.

The most recognisable elements of the design are the round LED headlight unit encapsulating the LED DRLs in the centre, and turn indicators on either side with Harley logos at the centre. Similarly, the rear profile features an oval-shaped pod for the taillamps. Apart from that, the bike features polished cooling fins on the engine, a chunky front fascia with a large squarish fuel tank, a flat handlebar, mid-set pegs, a fully-digital instrument cluster, 18-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear, a sleek rear look, chunky grab handles and more.
Apart from that, the instrument cluster sports a single round pod although the final images of the setup will only appear at the launch. The exhaust pipe looks rather understated and the single-piece seat will be comfortable for the pillion over long journeys. All in all, the exterior design on this bike will appeal to all those looking for a subtle off-roader with retro looks and the latest tech and connectivity features.

Specs
This bike will be powered by a 440-cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine although we don’t know the final power and torque figures. For reference, the Royal Enfield Classic makes 20 hp and 27 Nm from the 350-cc unit but the Harley could make in the vicinity of 40 Nm. What is more interesting is the fact that it would be only the second modern-day Harley Davidson to deploy the chain drive after the Pan Am. All these factors point toward a comfortable ride on long journeys which is the main purpose of a bike like this. We shall keep you posted as and when the launch takes place.
