Honda is all set to launch a new mid-size SUV in the Indian market. It is likely to arrive by 2023. Here’s All We Know.
Honda has been regularly making vehicles for Indian users. The company’s legacy includes popular bikes and cars. However, the Japanese carmaker has not been much activity in recent years. Now, it is planning to add a mid-size SUV to its lineup. The ‘Made for India’ car is expected to be launched in early 2023. While the company has not revealed many details, it is likely to be based on recently launched Honda SUVs like the HRV. Let’s take a look at the expected details of the upcoming model.

As per recent reports, the upcoming car will feature the traditional Honda design and look. This means a black cladding all-around, skid plates (front and rear), good ground clearance, roof rails, a large boot space, and enough leg space in the third row. Additional features will include automatic climate control, auto headlamps, auto wipers, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, auto-folding mirrors, ventilated seats, electric sunroof, cruise control, push-button start, a 360-degree parking camera, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging.
The mid-size SUV is likely to come with multiple powertrain options will include 1.5-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and a Hybrid unit. It is expected to come with good safety features as well. This might include ADAS, a Collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation, auto high beam, lane keep assist, 6 airbags, hill start assist (HSA), tire pressure monitoring system, and vehicle stability assist (VSA) with agile handling assist (AHA), and adaptive cruise control. The upcoming Honda SUV might be similar to the recently revealed N7X concept.

Recently, the Japanese company launched the City Hybrid. It comes with a starting price of Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The hybrid sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol unit (98PS/127Nm). It features twin electric motors (0.7 kWh battery pack) that offer 109PS and 253Nm. The new car comes with an e-CVT automatic gearbox and has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 26.5kmpl. Highlights include an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, connected car tech, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six airbags, ABS with EBD, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist.
