While scrolling through my Instagram, I got acquainted with the low rider iterations of the Toyota Hilux and Fortuner. Needless to say, I was shocked. The vehicle designed specially for off-roading with high ground clearance, has the lowest ground clearance possible, as a part of this unique modification. The reputation of the Toyota Hilux and Fortuner for being reliable and massively capable off-tarmac is world-famous. The engines of some Toyota cars have gone on to achieve some insane figures on the odometer. But let us take a look at something truly rare.

Low Rider Toyota Hilux and Fortuner
This post comes from autojournal_india on Instagram. The visuals capture quite an exciting event. A Hilux is seen in a low rider configuration, i.e., the body of the pickup truck is almost touching the ground. The alloy wheels are inside the wheel arches. The wide body layout ensures that the wheel arches almost cover the tyres. As a result, the ground clearance is minimal. It is towing a jet ski. We don’t have the information about the location of this event. Thereafter, a Mercedes and a Fortuner are also seen with a similar body modification. It is quite rare to witness these SUVs in this configuration.

What We Think
The surprising modification of the prominent SUV and pickup truck is rare. It’s interesting to see such an unconventional version of the Fortuner cruising the roads. Nevertheless, we strongly discourage individuals from making similar alterations to their vehicles. Firstly, significant car modifications are against the law in India. Secondly, these customizations can adversely affect the Fortuner’s capabilities and performance. Lowering it to the ground diminishes its appeal as the go-anywhere SUV and pickup truck. While these modifications may appear appealing online, they often lack practical value in real-life situations.
