Jeep had announced earlier that it is investing in India heavily. Under that initiative, Jeep had planned to launch 4 new products in India before the end of next year. Compass was launched recently, and now the hardcore off-roading machine, the Wrangler is also here. This time around, however, the tag on the Jeep says Made in India. That’s right! This Wrangler has been locally assembled in the Ranjangaon plant of Jeep and the prices, therefore, have seen a considerable drop. This is the fourth-generation Wrangler and comes with all the modern off-roading equipment. The hardware for the dirt roads is more than adequate and the features and technology are the latest. Let us take a look at what this Wrangler comes packed with.

2021 Jeep Wrangler – Exterior
The exterior of the new Jeep Wrangler is not too different from the current international model because it has always retained its iconic silhouette. On the front. there is the signature seven-slat grille with chrome finish, drop-down window and rounded LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. Down below we can see a chunky bumper, housing the LED fog lamp unit. On the sides, we can find extremely large and rugged wheel arches, with high-profile 18-inch alloys ready to take on any terrain. To give it the old-school feels, all four doors of the Wrangler can be taken off pretty effortlessly. The rear houses the LED taillamps, as well as the spare wheel, mounted on the boot door. Overall, the components and design language are modern, but the overall stance and appearance remain vintage.

2021 Jeep Wrangler – Interior, Safety and Features
The Wrangler comes with the latest technology and features along with premium quality interiors. Being a luxury off-roading SUV, the cabin is equipped with all the modern amenities along with typical off-roading features. There is an 8.4-inch Digital Infotainment Display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch MID Instrument Cluster which gives out information like drive modes and more, Ambient LED Lighting, Leather Upholstery with Dashboard, UConnect Connected Car Tech, Dual-Zone Climate Control and much more.
On the safety front, there are front and side airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill Ascent and Descent Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Rear Parking Sensors with Camera and much more. The approach, break-over and departure angles are also higher to facilitate seamless off-roading drive on any terrain.

2021 Jeep Wrangler – Engine, Prices and Rivals
The Wrangler comes with the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine churning out 268hp and 400Nm which was powering the outgoing model as well. This engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver high performance. Needless to say, there will be a whole host of off-roading equipment including Jeep’s Selec-Trac (with drive ratio of 2.72:1) and Rock Trac (with drive ratio 4:1) 4×4 System, Tru-Lok Differentials, various terrain modes, performance suspension, a very high ground clearance including high approach and departure angles, high water wading capabilities and much more.
The Jeep Wrangler comes in two trims; Unlimited and Rubicon. The price of the locally assembled Wrangler Unlimited is Rs 53.90 lakh, ex-showroom, down from Rs 63.94 lakh (fully imported unit) and Wrangler Rubicon is Rs 57.90 lakh, ex-showroom, down from Rs 68.94 lakh. These are introductory prices and the rivals of the Wrangler include the Land Rover Defender which has plenty of engines and variants and ranges between Rs 73.98 lakh to Rs 1.08 Crore, ex-showroom.
