The electric vehicle segment has been growing rapidly in our market in the last few years as we keep getting new car companies
The Ligier mini EV was recently spotted testing in India. For the uninitiated, Ligier is a French carmaker which manufactures affordable micro electric cars to power urban eco-friendly mobility solutions. The model on the test is the Ligier Myli. The mini 2-door electric car caters to city dwellers who wish to run short distances daily in urban centres. To facilitate that, the EV offers a decent range and attractive dimensions to be easily manoeuvred in the tight confines of cities. It will invariably go up against the MG Comet EV. Here are the details.
Ligier Mini EV Spied in India
The specifics of this case stem from NISHANT CHOUDHARY on YouTube. The vehicle has a tall boy stance with an upright tail section. It only carries two doors but possesses stylish alloy wheels which range between 13 and 16 inches. At the rear, we witness a single glass tailgate and large round LED taillamps. The front fascia incorporates round LED headlamps and LED DRLs with a slim grille area and a muscular bumper, lending it a sporty appeal. On the sides, the wheel arches are pronounced while the side body cladding oozes ruggedness. The EV is 2,958 mm long, 1,499 mm wide (w/o mirrors) and 1,541 mm tall. These are based on the European model. Overall, the EV bears a quirky design.
In terms of the interior and features, it is quite surprising how well the EV is equipped. There are all the basic and modern amenities to pamper the occupants. In fact, I believe this is the most attractive attribute of this tiny electric vehicle. The main highlights include a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power steering, automatic climate control, a heated driver seat, corner AC vents, a three-spoke steering wheel, a minimalistic dashboard design and more. There are multiple variants on offer – G.OOD, I.DEAL, E.PIC and R.EBEL.
Specs
This is where things get interesting. For the European markets, the Ligier mini EV gets three battery pack options – 4.14 kWh, 8.2 kWh and 12.42 kWh with range figures of 63 km, 123 km and 192 km on a single charge, respectively. These are handy numbers and people can choose based on their requirements provided we get all these options too. Also, the power and torque figures are 5.6 kW (7.61 PS) and 10.4 Nm, respectively. It remains to be seen how much it will cost in our market and when it will launch. The video claims a price tag in the vicinity of Rs 1 lakh but we can’t confirm or deny that claim. In any case, I shall keep an eye out for more developments in this regard.
