Suzuki Jimny has been a buzzword in our market for a long time now and we are beginning to see its first glimpses on Indian roads.
The LHD version of the Suzuki Jimny was recently spotted in Mumbai undisguised. The Indian public has been excited about the Jimny since it was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Since last year, Mahindra Thar generated a lot of interest in the market regarding lifestyle off-roaders at attractive prices. The demand for such relatively inexpensive hardcore off-roading SUVs is at an all-time high. To enhance the practicality of these SUVs, Thar and Gurkha are already slated to launch in the 5-door versions soon and Jimny might join soon too.

This video clip has been uploaded by CS 12 VLOGS as YouTube Shorts. In the video, the lime-coloured Jimny is seen undisguised on the road in Mumbai. People are seen excited as they go on the road and wave at the SUV. They are seen clicking photos and shooting videos of Jimny. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone because Suzuki already manufactures the Jimny in India for export. That is the reason why it has been spotted on our roads multiple times.

However, Maruti Suzuki has followed the preferences of Indian customers well. It is understood that price-conscious customers want the maximum value for their money. Thar is a prime example of this. Its exceptionally compact cabin seats 4 and has very little boot space. That is the reason why people are eagerly waiting for the 5-door version that will liberate more space inside the cabin for the rear passengers and boot. That is why Suzuki will come with full preparations. It will most likely be launched just in the 5-door version.

Specs
As far as the specs are concerned, there are not many details about that. But we know that a stock Suzuki Jimny comes powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces around 103 hp and 138 Nm of peak power and torque. Even in the international markets, this engine powers the Jimny. There is a 5-speed manual transmission accompanying this engine. In fact, we are expecting the 5-door Jimny to hit our market carrying the same powertrain albeit the calibration could be changed a bit.
