Lexus LS 500h Nishijin – Exterior and Styling
The design and exterior of the Nishijin variant are almost identical to the regular LS 500h, which is a good thing. The trademark Narrow slit-like 3-eye Bi-beam LED headlamps and 16-LED sequential turn indicators let you know immediately that you are looking at a Lexus. The curved and wave-like large front grille and bumpers are also unmistakably Lexus. The side profile accentuates the long sedan with designer alloys and blacked-out B-pillars. The thing to notice the most is the Gin-Ei Luster finish of this model, which makes it look unique. All-in-all the craftsmanship which the Japanese carmaker prides itself on is clearly on display here.
Lexus LS 500h Nishijin – Interior
The interior is also similar to the standard LS 500h, which means that almost every element inside the cabin is handcrafted by the renowned Takumi Masters from Japan, including ultra-soft L-aniline seat leather, hand-pleated upholstery and Nishijin finishes. Other prominent equipment include a 23-speaker Mark Levinson QLI Reference 3D Surround Sound System, Reclining rear seats with massagers, a 12.3-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interiors of the LS 500h are a pretty luxurious place to be in. The fact that every element is handcrafted makes it special enough.

Lexus LS 500h Nishijin – Engine and Transmission
The engine is the same one that comes with the regular LS 500h, which is a 3.6-litre V6 petrol with an electric motor, making 354hp and 350Nm. The sole transmission option is a 10-speed automatic gearbox and the luxury sedan is a rear-wheel-drive car. Although it might not seem much, it makes the LS 500h sprint from 0-100 kmph in a rather impressive 5.4 secs.

Lexus LS 500h Nishijin – Price and Competition
The Lexus LS 500h comes at a rather premium Rs 2.22 Crore, ex-showroom, which is a full Rs 31 lakh more than the standard LS 500h, which costs Rs 1.91 Crore, ex-showroom. It may well be a huge premium over the standard LS 500h, but it does offer some truly unique craftsmanship and luxury features. With almost a similar price range of some of the German rivals like the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class and Audi A8L, these will prove to give a tough competition to the Japanese carmaker because of their much-more powerful engines and sporty driving dynamics.
