In the latest video, the boot space of the upcoming new Maruti Swift has been documented. Swift is among the most popular vehicles in our market ever. Having been around since 2005, it is currently in its third generation. The fourth-gen model has already been launched in many parts of the world. In fact, the launch in India is slated for May 9. Ahead of the launch, however, we are able to witness the kind of practicality the new Swift will offer. Let us take a look at the details here.
Revealed – Boot Space of New Maruti Swift
We are able to see this video courtesy of crospotter13 on YouTube. The host brings us a walkaround tour of the new Swift. This is also somewhere in the international auto show. The man opens the boot of the new Swift. There is also a place to store some items beneath the boot floor. Furthermore, he pulls down one of the rear seats to showcase the practicality of the new Swift. While the official boot capacity numbers are not out yet, I feel it is a pretty large boot which is enough to carry the luggage of a family around. At least, in its segment, the new Swift will boast a decent-sized boot with the practicality of the split rear seats.
The biggest talking point about the upcoming new Maruti Swift is what powers it from under the hood. The existing K Series engine will make way for a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z Series mill. It is touted to be an even more fuel-efficient version of the current engine. Hence, we could expect the mileage to be in the vicinity of 25 kmpl. That is quite extraordinary and is bound to entice new customers. The power and torque figures will hover around what they currently are. But the low running costs will gain a lot of traction among the buyers. The pre-bookings have already been underway for a few days now and Maruti even launched a teaser.
Our View
Maruti Swift is an iconic vehicle not just in India but across many parts of the world. With the history of 19 years in the Swift moniker, the Japanese carmaker must be doing something right for it to be here today and still command an unprecedented demand. If you look at the monthly sales charts, the Swift has been consistently featuring in the top 5 highest-selling vehicles in our country. The new Swift comes with a few aesthetic changes, as well as modern features. Even the engine is new. Hence, I am interested to see how well the customers embrace the new Swift.
