The new ad film for Mahindra Thar showcases the off-roader’s capabilities along with incorporating an iconic Bollywood song with a love chemistry
Mahindra Thar is in its second generation now and its popularity can only be gauged by the fact that the waiting for this SUV extends all the way to 2023! The off-roader certainly needs no introduction but in spite of the huge demand, the homegrown carmaker has come up with a new TVC for its iconic off-roader. The new ad campaign builds up on the company’s new tagline of ‘Explore the Impossible’.

New Mahindra Thar TVC
The recently released ad film has the SUV as its protagonist and shows it taking on really challenging terrain. Targeting car buyers who wish for an adventurous and bold lifestyle, the new video shows two SUVs being driven together on what later turns out to be a volcano. Through showing characters of the opposite sex, the video targets establishing a connect with the millennials by showing a need to take a break from the mundane and venture off the beaten road.
Moreover, the latest Mahindra Thar TVC has a new rendition of a famous Bollywood classic song to go with a love chemistry that is shown between the characters. The video goes on to merge the need to explore along with a new take on a memorable moment of a young couple. The new ad film will be aired on social media channels and television. Other than Hindi, it will be aired even in regional languages such as Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

Second generation Mahindra Thar is on sale in two engine variants – 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel and 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. The former outputs a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm and the latter offers 150 PS and 320 Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and 6-speed torque-converter automatic as optional. 4×4 hardware with low range box is standard on all variants and so is a mechanically locking centre differential. The SUV is currently available in a price range of Rs 12.78 lakh to Rs 15.08 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the second-gen Force Gurkha and would even challenge the India-spec Maruti Jimny once it’s launched in coming future.
