Currently, the Honda Amaze is on sale in its 3rd generation avatar but the 2nd generation model is still sitting on showroom floors
The last-generation Honda Amaze is currently available with discounts and benefits worth upto Rs 2 lakh. Amaze is a popular compact sedan which rivals the mighty Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in our country. At present, the latest model boasts modern design language, tons of new-age amenities, and new active and passive safety features to pamper the customers and challenge the rivals. However, since the last-gen model is also on sale, the dealers want to get rid of the old stock.
Last-Gen Honda Amaze Available with Discounts
This video stems from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. As per the information in the video, the host mentions that there are massive benefits worth upto Rs 2 lakh on the compact sedan. He clarifies that this includes cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate and loyalty benefits. The reason is simple – the new model is already on sale but the stock of the previous-gen version has not completely sold out yet. This gives potential buyers a great opportunity to get their hands on this version of the compact sedan.
The old-gen Honda Amaze used to have a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol mill which generates a decent 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. This engine pairs with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. This is the same mill that has been carried forward to the new-gen model too. The claimed mileage figure is 18.6 km/l with the manual and 18.3 km/l with the CVT automatic. Finally, it had a decent-sized boot with a capacity of 420 litres.

My View
Offering discounts is the quickest way to attract customers. This is a common technique that carmakers use to spur demand for a particular model. Also, this is the most direct way to clear stock. That is exactly what the Japanese carmaker is also opting for. Now, it remains to be seen how well this offer translates to actual sales.
