The platform of Harrier is well suited to accommodate an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. Most likely, the compact SUV will get a 1.5 Litre three-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine, that will first come on the Evoque Hybrid.
The 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol engine will go with an 11.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering nearly 200 BHP on offer and 280 Nm of peak torque. The electric motor is capable of producing 108 BHP. It will definitely be a mild-hybrid engine with other features like BiSG inverter and an integrated charger.
If noted, the platform of Harrier is a cheaper version of the Discovery’s platform. To keep the prices in check, the Land Rover will use this localized and affordable platform itself. Further, we can also see its styling identical to the upcoming Defender.
