KTM RC125 has been spotted testing in Pune for the first time, and we expect it to make a debut shortly. It is already produced in India for the export markets.
KTM expanded the Duke series by introducing the smallest 125cc version. Now, it seems to plan the same for RC series, as the fully-faired sportsbike has been spotted testing with a 125cc engine.
KTM RC125 is already produced in India, at Bajaj’s plant in Chakan. However, the manufacturer was not sure whether the 125cc bikes will be popular in India, due to its high pricing.
However, given Duke 125’s success in India, KTM might be planning to launch the RC125 too. It looks identical to the other RCs, but with slightly less features and a less powerful engine.

KTM RC125 has been spotted testing in White/Orange paint job with orange alloy wheels. Dual projector headlamps and the tall visor are carried over from the RC200.
Other highlights of the bike include split seats, a rear tire hugger and LED tail lamps. It follows the same dedicated riding position with low-height clip-on handlebars and rear-set foot pegs.
RC125 will use a 124.6cc air-cooled engine, that is capable of producing 14.3 BHP at 9250 RPM and 12 Nm at 8000 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The acceleration figures and top speed will be the same as of Duke 125.

For suspension purposes, KTM RC125 can be seen with Upside-Down forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the back. Braking will be handled by disc brakes at both the ends paired with a single-channel ABS.
Features onboard will include projector headlamps, a fully digital instrument console, single-ABS, LED tail lights, Fuel Injection and the usual sporty decals.
We all know, with whom will the RC125 compete. Yamaha R15 V3 is priced at Rs 1.39 Lakhs, which is a 150cc sportsbike. We expect the KTM sportsbike to be priced near Rs 1.3 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices) for a stiffer competition.
