The deliveries for the new KTM RC125 have commenced and the first one is already out. The smallest fully faired motorcycle goes for Rs 1.47 Lakhs.
KTM has already commenced the deliveries of RC125 in India, the first one delivered yesterday itself. IAB has shared the photo of a customer taking the delivery of the RC125 from KTM Thane.
The first one delivered gets the Moto GP derived Black/Orange paint job. It is available in another White/Orange paint job as well. The second colour option comes on the bigger RC200 and RC390 as well.
KTM RC125 is not the most affordable fully faired motorcycle, but is the smallest one in India. Priced at Rs 1.47 Lakhs (ex-showroom), it is definitely high priced, demanding Rs 17,000 more than the Duke 125.

RC125 uses a 124.6cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, that churns out 14.5 BHP at 9250 RPM and 12 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
Suspension is handled by 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the back, both sourced by WP. Most of the 150-200cc motorcycles also do not offer such premium suspension setup.
For braking, it uses disc brakes at both the ends with a single-channel ABS and Rear-Lift Off protection (RLP). At the back, you get RLP which is a less effective alternative to ABS and basically prevents the lifting of the rear wheel in case of sudden brakes.
Some highlights of the motorcycle include clip-on handlebars, dual projector headlamps, split seats, fully digital instrument console and the usual snazzy paint job options.

KTM RC125 goes against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and Yamaha R15 V3. Both of them are much powerful than the KTM, but the very near pricing range puts them in a stiff competition.
The R15 V3 goes for Rs 1.41 Lakhs and the RS200 goes for Rs 1.39 Lakhs (prices ex-showroom). The power figures are lesser than its competition, but being the lightest in the segment, it has good acceleration figures.
