A new KTM electric scooter has been spotted testing in Europe. The E-scooter gets no seats and is aimed specifically for the young college goers.
A standing electric scooter for young college goers to commute daily sounds like a new thing. Apparently, KTM electric scooter has been spotted testing in Europe, as a standing scooter.
Currently, KTM has electric dirt bikes in its portfolio. In 2013, KTM showcased the E-Speed which was basically a zero-emission E-scooter. It was powered by a motor that delivered 15 BHP and 36 Nm of peak torque.
Based on the design, it looks like an urban mobility scooter without seats. It gets a large footboard with the batteries placed under it. On the rear wheel, an electric motor is put up and on the right side of the wheel, which will help in regenerating energy from braking.

The KTM electric scooter runs on a 21-inch tire at the front and 16-inch tires at the back. The handlebars are tall with a TFT colour instrument cluster on the top. It seems to be borrowed from the other KTM motorcycles.
The instrument panel will display information such as riding range, battery status and other telematics. We expect the panel to be a Bluetooth-integrated unit.
At the front, it gets a disc brake and a bigger disc brake at the back. The suspension and brakes are similar to that found on a mountain bike. Also, a round makeshift headlamp has been fitted on the handlebar.

The engine specifications and electric motor details stand unknown at this point. It seems to be in its initial testing stages, which will take a considerable amount of time to come in the production version.
Since its a KTM product, we expect it to be performance oriented. Just likes its bikes, its scooter might posses some performance abilities.
Owing to the growing popularity of electric vehicles globally, every automotive brand is trying their hands in developing new EVs. In the Indian market, almost all automotive brands are working on their electric models.
