The upcoming new KTM 250 Adventure has been spied testing in India again. The more affordable ADV from KTM is likely to be seen in 2020.
Regular readers might know that KTM is finally launching the 390 Adventure this year. It has been scheduled to be launched at the Indian Bike Week in the first week of December. Also, the ADV has been now spied a lot of times.
A couple of weeks back, news broke about KTM also planning for a smaller ADV than the 390 Adventure. The KTM 250 Adventure will be the second ADV offering from the brand and its smallest ADV offering as well.
Now, the spy shots of KTM 250 Adventure have been leaked, reportedly. Going by the shots, the 390 Adventure and 250 Adventure will be styled similarly. Between both of them, there will be just some minor differences.

For starters, the 250 Adventure will come with halogen lamps instead of LED units on the 390. The test mule is also seen without a fly guard which is seen on the 390. However, the TFT colour instrument cluster with onboard navigation will come on both of them.
The refreshed exhaust muffler indicates that there is a BS-6/Euro-5 compliant engine powering the bike. It will be the same engine that comes on the Duke 250, but with the BS-6 compliance. The Duke 250 uses a 248.6cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, that produces 29.9 BHP and 24 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
At the front, the 250 Adventure will use USD forks which are non-adjustable along with a pre-load adjustable mono-shock at the back. The test mule is running on front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The bike is spotted running on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear dual-purpose tires. It will be a proper ADV but will be a bit softer than the 390 Adventure. Moreover, with the 250 Adventure, KTM will also have a say in the entry-level ADV which now includes the Hero Xpulse 200 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
We expect the prices of the KTM 250 Adventure to be between Rs 2 Lakhs to Rs 2.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). However, since the expected price of 390 Adventure is around Rs 3 Lakhs, the 250 might be priced less than Rs 2.3 Lakhs. Even at that price, it will costlier than its rivals, but hey, it’s a KTM adventure motorcycle.
