Kia SP2i to be unveiled on June 20 and the SUV shares its platform with Hyundai Creta.
Recently we brought you flesh images of how the Kia SP2I concept named Seltos looks like. Now the spy shots of the same have been spied in India. South Korean manufacturer will unveil the SP2i on 20th June 2019. The car competes with the likes Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and Nissan Kicks and will fall between the price tag of Rs 10 lakh – Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The test mule seen in the global market seems to be in its production-ready avatar. However, the placement of fog lights and front parking sensors. The SUV looks bigger than Creta even though both the cars share the same platform.
Adding to the side of the car are bold body cladding which is now more visible and the detailing given to the alloy wheels. The rear section of the car saw redesigned taillights along with the badging of 4WD. It means an-all wheel drive can be expected from the upcoming SUV.

The same car is spotted in India and the 18-inch alloy wheels look prominent. The version spied will be similar to the one spot in the global market with few tweaks to the design and detailing.
Kia has set up its plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh from where their SUVs line up will roll out. Yes, Kia plans to set its foot with SUVs first in the country and then shift to premium hatchback, MPV’s and even GT’s.
Some features like 360-degree camera, front ventilated seats, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice command, wireless charging, heads-up display can come with the upcoming SUV.
Coming to the engine configuration, Kia SP2i will get new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine which are expected to compliance with BS-VI emission norms. Automatic and manual transmission are likely to adapt according to the country’s enthusiasm for the former these days.

There’s an expectancy that Kia SP2i will also be rolled out with a more powerful turbo-petrol engine which will churn out 140 bhp with a good amount of torque. The 1.4-litre engine will be mated with a 7-speed DCT and will get paddle shifters too for smooth and fast acceleration.
