More details of the Kia Sonet have been leaked which also reveal the dimensions of the upcoming subcompact SUV.
Kia Sonet has been unveiled globally and details regarding its features, engine options and gearbox options have been revealed. Now, media reports have further leaked the variants and dimension of the SUV. While it may not be the biggest SUV in its class, but is surely the one with highest ground clearance.
Kia Sonet will boast of 211mm worth of ground clearance, which is the best in its class. The nearest competitor is Tata Nexon, which gets a clearance of 209mm. The third in this segment is Ford Ecosport, which offers 200mm of clearance. That means, you can do some type of off-roading but still, its nothing capable for serious adventures.

Further, Sonet will be 3.95 metres long, 1.79 metres wide and 1.64 metres tall. It also comes out as the tallest SUV in this segment, sharing the stage with Ford Ecosport. The wheelbase is 2.5 metres long and lastly, the boot capacity is rated at 392 litres. Even here, the Sonet shows its shine offering the biggest bot in its segment.
Sonet will be offered in Tech Line and GT Line trims, both having some cosmetic differences only. You will get three engine options including a 1.2 Litre petrol, a 1.5 Litre diesel and a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol. The turbo unit is good for 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed MT, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed iMT.
Further, it boasts of many premium features that include a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect Internet Car Technology, electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, automatic AC, smart air purifier, cruise control, wireless charging, ambient lighting and much more. Safety bits include front and rear parking sensors with a camera, six airbags and traction control.
