Kia Sonet is scheduled to be unveiled on 7th August. Here are the 8 features that you will not find even on the best selling Maruti Vitara Brezza.
Kia Sonet will be the latest addition to the huge sub compact SUV segment. Its unveiling has been scheduled for 7th August and Sonet will be introduced in India first, later in the rest of the world. Kia’s third offering after Seltos and Carnival will take a total of 7 sub compact SUVs .
Sonet is based on the platform of Hyundai Venue, but will be styled completely different. The engines and gearbox options will remain the same as well. Sonet will get a more muscular stance and will be sportier-looking than Venue. The 1.2 Litre petrol engine, 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine and the new 1.5 Litre diesel engine will be offered. While the diesel engine only comes with a manual gearbox on Venue, Kia might offer the diesel-automatic combination with Sonet.

8 Features That Will Come On Kia Sonet But Not On Maruti Vitara Brezza
Wireless Charging
On the top-spec variant, Sonet will offer wireless charging as standard. In this segment, only Venue offers this feature. While it may not be a handy feature because very premium phones support wireless charging, but just having it makes it better.
Diesel Engine
This is not a feature exactly, but one of the most important highlights over the Vitara Brezza. Kia Sonet will come packed with a 1.5 Litre diesel engine from the Venue. Brezza, on the other hand, is a petrol-only SUV with a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine.
Electric Sunroof
Most of the SUVs in this segment offer electric sunroof but Brezza fails to offer one. Reports suggest that Sonet could possibly get a panoramic sunroof as well.
UVO Connect Internet Car Technology
Brands like Hyundai, Kia and MG have commenced the progress of internet car technology. Sonet will come with the UVO connect technology which enables a lot of remote features. Like you can start your car or your AC through your phone. Also, you can track your car and set a geo-fence, just in case.
Bose Sound System
Sonet will get a premium Bose 8-speaker and 4-tweeter system. This is a very premium feature and even other SUVs in the segment fail to offer one.
Automatic Air Purifier
Air Purifier is not an important feature but something handy in the current period. Like Seltos, the Sonet will also get an air purifier which can be operated from the infotainment system itself.
Six Airbags
Sonet will offer front dual airbags as standard with the higher-end variants getting side and curtain airbags as well. This is an important feature which, from the past 1-2 years, is considered while purchasing a new car.
Clutchless Manual iMT gearbox
Hyundai and Kia both have developed this India-first clutchless manual iMT gearbox. Sonet will basically get a manual stick but no clutch pad. It works out for both kind of buyers – one who wants to have the comfort of an automatic gearbox and the other who wants some enthusiastic driving experience with manual gear shifting.
