The Kia Sonet has been spied testing on our roads and these new images reveal the interiors of the SUV for the first time. It looks a lot similar to that of the Seltos.
Kia debuted the Sonet concept in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. It already had us very much impressed with how SUV looked and most of the exterior design of the concept will be making it to production. The Kia Sonet will be launched in India in the second half of 2020 and now, the first prototype of the Sonet has been spotted testing on the outskirts of Chennai. The images also reveal what the interiors of the Kia Sonet are going to lool like for the very first time.
The Sonet show car at the Auto Expo came with tinted windows and we did not have a chance to look inside this brand new sub-4m SUV. Now these images reveal that the dashboard of the Kia Sonet is going to look pretty similar to that of the Seltos. Immediately , in first glance, you notice the large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that seems to have directly come from the Seltos. The infotainment system is also connected to the instrument cluster, just like we have seen on the Seltos.
Even the steering wheel seems to be lifted from the bigger Kia. There are certain differentiating elements though and that includes a redesigned central console which comes with vertical AC vents and redesigned climate control knobs as well. The AC vents at either ends of the dashboard also look different from the Seltos.

The Kia Sonet shares its underpinnings with the Hyundai Venue. It will use the same powertrain options as the Venue. It will thus get a 1.2L Kappa petrol engine with 83bhp, a 1.0L Turbo-petrol engine with 120bhp and a detuned version of the 1.5L diesel engine that is offered in the Seltos. The diesel engine is expected to produce around 100bhp. We expect prices for the Sonet to start from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sonet will lock horns with the Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and the Mahindra XUV300.
