Kia Sonet receives more than 50,000 bookings in just 2 months of its launch. The subcompact SUV is priced from Rs 6.7 Lakhs.
Kia’s third offering for the country has turned out to be as popular as the Seltos. Kia Sonet was launched in the third week of September and now, 2 months later, it has garnered more than 50,000 bookings already. That equals to more than 800 units booked per day since the launch, across the country.
Kia opened the bookings for Sonet on 20th August, following a month later, it was launched. In just 2-3 days of launch, Kia had already received more than 10,000 bookings. The first month saw Sonet as the best selling sub compact SUV, registering over 5,000 units sold in the month of September.

The waiting period for Sonet is as high as 4-5 months, depending on the variant. The top-end variants usually have a lower waiting period as compared to the mid-spec and base variants. Sonet comes with three engine options including a 1.5 Litre diesel engine, a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol motor and a 1.2 Litre petrol engine. The petrol engine comes with a 5-speed MT as standard, while the turbo motor gets a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. The diesel engine comes in two state of tunes – 100 PS for the 6-MT variant and 115 PS for 6-AT combination.
Features onboard include six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control modes, drive modes, electric sunroof, cruise control, automatic air purifier, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect internet car technology, rear AC vents and much more.
