Kia Motors India has received more than 6,500 bookings for Sonet in just a day of its bookings being commenced!
Kia Sonet is scheduled to be launched in next month, most probably, by the first week itself. The bookings have officially begun and Sonet has created a record in it. The SUV has crossed its sibling in terms of popularity by garnering more than 6,500 bookings in just a day. As for the Seltos, it managed to garner just a bit above 6,000 bookings in one day.
The bookings for Sonet have commenced online as well as through the dealerships with the booking amount set for Rs 25,000. Even when Kia unveiled Sonet , we saw a reat response from enthusiasts. For starters, it is on its way to becoming the most feature-rich SUV in the segment, replacing the Hyundai Venue.

Sonet will come with many premium features such as LED headlamps, cruise control, digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, air purifier with virus protection, wireless charger, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, UVO connect internet car technology and much more.
Safety bits onboard include front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control and electrochromic rear view mirror. It will continue to be available in Tech Line and GT Line, the latter being the top-end variant. Even Seltos gets the same classification for its variants.
Engine options will include a 1.5 Litre turbodiesel unit, a 1.2 Litre NA petrol and a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor. The turbo petrol engine comes from the Venue, producing 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. The diesel engine will produce 100 PS/250 Nm with a 6-speed MT but will offer 115 PS/250 Nm with the 6-speed torque converter.

We are expecting the prices to commence from around Rs 7.5 Lakhs going all the way up to Rs 12 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Next month, we will be seeing another sub compact SUV, the Toyota Urban Cruiser. Based on the Brezza, the Urban Cruiser will also see great attraction from buyers in this segment.
