The base spec trim of Kia Sonet has been spotted from the inside showing us some details about what features will it get.
Since the global unveil of Kia Sonet is nearing, more and more details about it is coming. While we have confirmed details about the engine and gearbox options along with some premium features, there are still a lot of details left to revealed. The latest spy shot reveals the interiors of Kia Sonet base variant.
You can see here, it gets an adjustable steering wheel which is completely round. The higher-end trims would get a flat-bottom steering unit. Further, it gets a 2 DIN Bluetooth system with a USB port as well. Further, there’s the manual AC controls which will take up the space of the touchscreen system.

The centre console of the base variant might not look as flashy as we see on the Seltos, although copying the style. Then there’s a digital instrument cluster and steering mounted audio controls. Looks like there are no voice assist and telephone controls available. This will definitely be the base variant and most likely, even the second in line variant of Sonet will get a touchscreen system.
Reports suggest that Kia Sonet will come in HT and GT Line trims. The HT line variants will come with petrol and diesel engines while the GT line is expected to remain exclusive to the turbo petrol engine. All of its engine and gearbox options will be borrowed from Hyundai Venue itself.
Sonet will get a 1.2 Litre petrol engine that produces 83 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed MT. The diesel unit will be a 1.5 Litre turbo diesel engine which is good for 100 PS and 240 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed MT. The 1.0 Litre turbo petrol engine, producing 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque, will get a manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT.

Prices are expected to start off at around Rs 6.5 Lakhs going up to Rs 12 Lakhs, easily. The subcompact SUV segment will get two new entrants this year, including Sonet and the Nissan Magnite. Just like the popularity of Kia Sonet, we are expecting Sonet to also get the same attraction.
