We all know the winner over here, but in this race of Kia Seltos and Audi A6, the start of the race is something interesting to watch.
Kia Seltos is currently among one of the most popular SUVs in India, capturing the 10-20 Lakh budget very tightly. For many months, it has maintained its position as among the best selling cars of India beating many Maruti, Hyundai and Tata cars. The rivals of Seltos include new Hyundai Creta, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
Here is a quick drag race between the sporty Kia Seltos and the much sportier Audi A6. Its basically a sedan versus an SUV race, which will have the expected answers. Also, the A6 is a lot more powerful, but in the initial seconds you will be shocked seeing the results.

In the first attempt, you can see the Seltos jumping the line and that’s why it gets an early start. However, interestingly, it manages to hold on to the lead for a nice couple of seconds. As both the cars move towards 80-90 km/hr, Audi simply overtakes it and wins the race. There’s a second attempt as well.
In the second one, Kia Seltos again has a lead for a couple of seconds. This time, Audi A6 manages to overtake the SUV earlier than the first attempt. One reason for the win of Audi is that it is more powerful with its 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine. Seltos, on the other hand, gets a humble 1.5 Litre turbo diesel engine.
First of all, Seltos offers generous amounts of low-end torque and that’s why an early lead. Also, the SUV comes paired to a manual gearbox whereas the A6 comes with an automatic gearbox. Acceleration is any day better with a manual stick. The power figures of Seltos are 110 PS and 250 Nm and it is the HTX-MT variant.

This Audi A6 is a 2012 model which gets a 2.0 Litre TDI engine, producing 175 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. There’s a huge difference of power and torque. On papers, Seltos might feel a little underpowered but due to its low-end torque, it becomes quite driveable in the city as well as on the mountain roads.
