Kia will soon be updating several trims of the Seltos with additional exterior, interior and comfort features. There have been some revisions to the interior trim and upholstery as well.
The Seltos has not even been around for a year and Kia Motors is already about to give the SUV an update. Well, its not a facelift we are talking about but Kia is going to re-jig the variant lineup of the Seltos with new features. There will be a number of new exterior, interior and comfort features added to various trims of the Seltos. The Kia Seltos has a rather confusing and elaborate list of 18 variants and there are as many as six powertrain options o offer. Let’s have a detailed look at all the updates.
There will be few additional features on some variants.
The automatic gearbox versions of the Seltos across the HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and GTX trims will see the addition of a new remote engine start function. Also, the HTX and GTX variants will benefit from the addition of a powered sunroof and LED cabin lights. These features were only available on the HTX+ and GTX+ variants previously. Apart from this, all trims of the Seltos will now be offered with USB charging ports for both the front and second row of seats along with an emergency stop signal as standard.
The interior trim and dashboard has also been revised
The interiors of the top-spec GTX+ variants of the Seltos will now come in an all-black upholstery theme with contrasting red stitching. The GTX+ variant can either be had with the 140hp, 1.4L turbo-petrol engine or the 1.5L diesel engine. Further, the HTX, HTX+, GTX and the GTX+ trims will now come with a new faux metal finish on the AC control panel as well as the door grab handles. Lower down the variant lineup, the HTK+ variant of the Seltos will see the addition of a new faux leather finish for the gear knob and a gloss black finish for the dashboard.

There are some minor exterior changes too
All variants of the Seltos – except for the HTE and HTK – will now come with dual-exhaust tips on the rear bumper. Until now, it was only seen on the higher turbo-petrol variants. Also, the HTX and HTX+ trims will now be additionally offered with metal scuff plates. This feature was earlier only available on the GTX and GTX+ trims of the Seltos. There are not many exterior changes however.

When will these changes be effective?
These new additional features and upgrades are expected to come at the cost of a mild increase in price, but nothing significant. As the lockdown has gradually been easing, Kia dealerships across the country have started opening up again. Expect the Seltos with these updated features to go on sale in a couple of months time. The Hyundai Creta has again become the talk of the town and Kia is doing their bit to keep the Seltos at its top position.
