The Kia Seltos has crossed the 50,000 bookings and the reason for its popularity is that it brings a value for money proposition on the table unlike none.
The Kia Seltos has proved to be an immensely popular product in its segment. It was launched on August 22 at a price of Rs. 9.69 lakhs, and just a few days ago we reported that the Seltos has crossed 40,000 bookings. Now, the numbers have soared higher and bookings for the Kia Seltos has crossed the 50,000 mark. The company has already delivered over 13,750 units in the last two months. The Seltos offers a value for money proposition in the segment unlike none.
Of all the bookings that Kia has received until now, almost half of them are for the 1.5-litre diesel engine model, about 30 percent are for the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, and the remaining are for the 1.5-litre petrol. Also, split for manual to automatic buyers for the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine Seltos is 50:50 and the dual-clutch automatic was the preferred choice among those buying the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol
Kia even introduced two additional top-spec variants of the Seltos on a later date called the GTX+, available with the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol-DCT combo and the 1.5-litre diesel-automatic option. Kia says that even these top-spec variants has seen quite some demand. Currently, the average waiting period on the Seltos is something between 6-8 weeks, though for some trims, it can go up to three months.

The reason why the Kia Seltos has proved to be such a popular product is because it comes in a wide range of configurations. There are three engine options, all of which are BS-VI compliant. There’s a 1.5 liter petrol engine with 115 hp of power and 144 Nm torque while a 1.5 liter diesel engine produces 115 hp power and 250 Nm torque. Top of the line 1.4 liter turbo petrol delivers 140 bhp of power. Along with three engines, there are four transmission options – a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT, 6-speed CVT and a 6-speed AT as well. That’s the highest number of configuration possible in this segment.

What also played a huge role was the styling and feature loaded interiors of the Seltos. The Kia Seltos features very distinctive styling which is modern and smart. The detailings on the face are a particularly nice touch. As for the interiors and features, the Seltos is the most feature loaded car in the segment. Combined with that, a well laid out cabin which feels quite premium makes a great package. Lastly, with a very aggressive price starting at Rs.9.69 lakhs, Kia clearly has a winner on their hands. The Kia Seltos has also been nominated for the 2020 World Car of The Year Award.
