The India launch or actually debut of Kia Seltos, has been fixed for 22nd August. The SUV will go against MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
Kia is all set to make its India debut with the new Seltos SUV. The engine specifications and the features have been revealed, just the prices of the SUV are left to be seen.
Autocar reports that the India launch of Kia Seltos is scheduled for 22nd August. At the launch event itself, officials confirmed that it will be launched in August, while the media drives will happen prior to that.
Actually, it was not just the India debut, but the global debut of the Seltos. It will be first launched in India, later in the foreign markets.

Kia Motors is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Global and that’s why you get the same platform of Hyundai Creta on the Seltos. However, the platform receives some modifications as Seltos is a bit longer.
Engine options offered include a 1.5 Litre petrol, a 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5 Litre diesel engine as well. Seltos is actually the first car in India to be offered with three automatic gearboxes – a CVT, a 7-speed DCT and a Torque Converter Unit.
The 1.5L petrol produces 115 BHP and 144 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol chugs out 140 BHP and 242 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is capable of producing 115 BHP and 250 Nm. All the engines are BS-6 compliant. A 6-speed manual gearbox comes as standard on all the engines.
Kia Seltos gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with UVO Connect technology, LED mood lighting, 360-degree camera, Wireless charging, Different drive modes, in-car Wifi and a segment-first 8-inch heads-up display.

Safety features onboard include 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, Hill Assist Control, Hill Hold, Vehicle Stability Management, Traction Control, Brake Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring System and more. The UVO smart connect system offers features such as AI-enabled voice command, remote engine start-stop system and much more.
As said earlier, we expect the Seltos to be priced starting from around Rs 11 Lakhs going up to Rs 17 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will go against Tata Harrier, new MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass. It will be placed as a premium alternative to the Creta.
