Kia Seltos ranges from Rs 9.69 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bookings for the same has reached over 32,000 and one can book their SUV either through online or via dealerships.
The much anticipated mid-size SUV of the country, Kia Seltos is launched at an introductory price of Rs 9.69 lakh and interestingly the bookings for the same has crossed over 32,000. The launch event happened in Mumbai and the top end trim for the same will fetch you about Rs 15.99 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Earlier we reported that Kia Seltos received 23,000 bookings in just 23 days and now the numbers have crossed over 32,000. Kia Motors India will certainly not stop bookings like its competitor MG Hector as the former has a plant capacity of 3 lakh units. Mind you, MG Motors stopped taking the bookings when numbers reached 28,000 and some trims see a waiting period of up to six months.
Kia Seltos is a highly localised SUV and has a plant based in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The car is available in both petrol and diesel engines and gets an option of four transmission options. Kia Motors is currently on sale and has about 192 dealerships spread over 160 cities in the country.

Kia Seltos is the first in this segment which offers both petrol and diesel engine which are BS6 compliant. And also offers three different automatic gearboxes for every engine. The powertrain includes a 1.5-lire naturally aspirated petrol motor churning out 115 bhp with a peak torque of 144 Nm. Transmission option includes a CVT gearbox.
Next in line is the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine which generates 115 bhp and 250 Nm of torque on tap. This variant comes with 6-speed AT. The most powerful of the lot, the 1.4L turbo petrol churns out 120 bhp with 242 Nm of torque. It gets the 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed manual gearbox is a standard across all trims.
Furthermore, it is a feature-rich SUV which provides a large touchscreen 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with UVO connect. It also gets connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity.

It also gets ventilated seats, Blind spot view monitor, heads up display, wireless charging, Drive modes (DCT only), automatic climate control, 360-degree parking camera, ambient lighting and much more.
Safety onboard includes six-airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic stability control, Vehicle stability management, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors are some of the features which come onboard.
Now that the SUV is launched, it will be interesting to see how it fares among its competitors and to the customer’s expectations. Kia Motors will revise the price of the Seltos knowing it is just an introductory one right now.
