Ahead of the launch this month, Kia has revealed the India-spec Carnival and its engine specs, variants, features and seating options as well.
Official details of the India-bound Kia Carnival MPV are finally out. Kia will launch the premium MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo. Unofficial bookings for the MPV have already commenced across dealerships for a minimum booking amount of Rs 50,000.
Carnival will get a 2.2 Litre BS6 compliant diesel engine, that produces 200PS and 440Nm of peak torque. The motor will come mated to Kia’s Sportsonic 8-speed torque-converter AT.
Further, the Carnival will be available in three trims – Premium, Prestige and Limousine. The MPV will come in three seating configurations. 7-seater will come in two options – 4 captain seats with 3 sinking seats and another variation the 7 VIP, has the option of a second-row VIP seat, which will be even more premium than the captain seats.

The 9-seater variant will come with 6 individual captain seats and three sinking seats at the back. The 8-seater variant will come with individual captain seats on the second row and three sinking seats on the third. The Limousine Trim will only come as a 7-seater (VIP seats). The Premium trim will get an option of a 7-seater or an 8-seater. Lastly, the Prestige trim will get an option of a 7-seater or a 9-seater.
Features onboard the MPV include Dual Panel Electric Sunroof, VIP Seats with 10.1” Dual Touchscreen Rear Seat Entertainment System, One-Touch Power Sliding Door, LED Projector headlamps with LED DRLs Smart Power Tailgate, UVO Connect with Smartwatch, Smart Pure Air purifier and much more.
With the UVO connect Smartwatch, you can access remote engine start-stop, AC Control, Smart Pure Air control, horn/ light, door lock/ unlock, Tyre pressure and fuel level information. Most of these features can also be done through the UVO mobile app.
Other features include Tri-zone Auto AC, Electronic Parking Brake, Auto Defog windscreen, Smart Cruise Control, Front and Rear parking sensors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

Safety features will include driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, Front and Rear Disc Brakes, ISO-FIX, and Rear Parking Sensors as standard fitment. Higher variants will further get Electronic Stability Control with Hill Assist Control, Roll-over Mitigation and Cornering Brake Control, Side and Curtain Airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Front Parking Sensors.
Our sources have hinted that Kia Carnival will cost between the 25 Lakhs to 35 Lakhs range. It will have no competitors as such and will be in a segment above the Toyota Innova Crysta.
