The Kia Carnival has already garnered 1410 bookings after it was opened on January 21. The MPV will see its launch on February 5 at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Kia Motors India has announced that its soon-to-be-launched Carnival MPV has received 1,410 bookings in just one day. The Carnival will be launched in India at the 2020 Auto Expo on February 5. Kia commenced bookings for the Carnival on January 21 for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh either online on the company’s official website or at any Kia dealers across the country. Over 1,400 bookings for a really expensive MPV is actually a great feat achieved by Kia.
Kia Motors also revealed that around 64% of overall bookings for the Carnival have been for the top-spec Limousine trim. The Carnival comes in three trim levels – Premium, Prestige and Limousine – with three seating configuration (7, 8, or 9). The top-spec Limousine trim comes only with a seven-seater configuration while the mid-spec Prestige trim comes in either seven- or nine-seater configuration. The base Premium trim comes in either seven- or either-seater configuration.
Speaking about the booking milestone, Kookhyun Shim, managing director and CEO, Kia Motors India, said, “We are thrilled with the reception that the Kia Carnival has got even before its launch. We attained 1,410 bookings for Kia’s new offering in the Indian market in just one day after we started accepting pre-orders. This heartening response to our first product in this aspirational category is a proof of the power of Kia brand in India. It is also clear that there was an unmet demand for a world-class product like the Carnival in India. Our priority now is to make sure our extravagant by design Carnival reaches those who have reposed faith in it and in Kia Motors at the earliest.”
The Carnival is a very well kitted car. Features onboard the MPV include Dual Panel Electric Sunroof, VIP Seats with 10.1” Dual Touchscreen Rear Seat Entertainment System, One-Touch Power Sliding Door, LED Projector headlamps with LED DRLs Smart Power Tailgate, UVO Connect with Smartwatch, Smart Pure Air purifier and much more. With the UVO connect Smartwatch, you can access remote engine start-stop, AC Control, Smart Pure Air control, horn/ light, door lock/ unlock, Tyre pressure and fuel level information. Most of these features can also be done through the UVO mobile app.

The Carnival gets a 2.2 Litre BS6 compliant diesel engine, that produces 200PS and 440Nm of peak torque. The motor will come mated to Kia’s Sportsonic 8-speed torque-converter AT. It is because the Carnival comes with so many features, plenty of versatility with multiple seating configurations and a potent diesel engine that it has garnered a good number of bookings already.
