Unofficial booking for the Kia Carnival has commenced across dealerships. The booking amount has been set at Rs 1 Lakh.
Kia Motors India is going to launch the Carnival MPV by February 2020. It will be a premium MPV, put as a costlier alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta. Ahead of that, the booking for Kia Carnival has started unofficially.
Our dealership sources confirmed that the booking amount of the Kia Carnival has been set for Rs 1 Lakh. They also said that they have received 5 bookings already for the MPV. We are expecting Kia to launch it at the 2020 Auto Expo, ahead of its unveiling next month.
Kia’s second offering for India will be a premium MPV, that will be priced between Rs 25 Lakhs to Rs 30 Lakhs. Earlier, we also received the information that customers who have booked Seltos are offered with the option of upgrading their booking to Carnival by paying Rs 20,000 – 25,000 extra.

Kia bought the Carnival MPV in India two years back itself, as many readers might have seen it on the roads. However, we will be getting the facelift version that was launched last year in the global markets. In comparison to the pre-facelift model, there have been a lot of changes.
The MPV will get a BS-6 compliant 2.2-Litre turbo-diesel engine. The motor will be able to produce 202 BHP and 441 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed AT and a 6-speed manual, Kia offering the latter being only in the base variants.
Kia will most likely offer the Carnival with 6-seater, 7-seater and 8-seater configurations. For a 6-seater, it will be individual captain seats on all rows. The 7-seater will get captain seats on the second row and a three-seater bench at the back. The 8-seater will get three-seater benches on all rows.
