Here is a video of a 67-year-old man from Kerala who develops an electric vehicle. It is not difficult to understand the charm and need of an EV. With the rising fuel prices, people are beginning to shift their attention to alternatives. However, EVs are quite expensive at the moment. The next best thing, albeit not for everyone, is to develop the electric vehicle on your own. That is what this man did as well. He dedicated his time and energy to creating a tiny EV that he could use for his daily commute.

Kerala Man Develops Electric Vehicle
The 67-year-old Antony John is a career consultant in the Kollam district of Kerala. His office is around 30 km away from his house. With the rising fuel prices, he was looking for EVs, but they were expensive. That is when he decided to take matters into his own hands. He researched and studied how to construct a vehicle. In addition to that, he taught himself about the electronics in the car. He made a basic design of the EV and approached a manufacturer to produce it.

Additionally, he went to Delhi to consult a vendor regarding the electronics including the electric motor and the battery. Finally, he was able to assemble everything together. But then the pandemic struck and affected everything. After the bans were lifted, he realised that there was not enough range from the battery. He decided to install a bigger battery. Ultimately, he was able to squeeze around 60 km of range from his electric vehicle. It takes only Rs 5 to charge the battery to the brim.

There is a possibility of accommodating 2 adults in the EV. He has developed it for himself. When he wishes to travel with his family, he takes his Maruti Alto. This highlights the dedication and commitment of people despite their age. He is in a process of developing yet another electric vehicle.
