Kerala Actor Dies in Toyota Etios
The video has been uploaded by Nikhil Rana on YouTube. This channel keeps featuring content around the performances of cars during undesirable scenarios and road safety. This time around, it reports the latest crash of a Malayalam actor and mimicry artist in Kaipamangalam in Thrissur, Kerala. As per the information in the video, 39-year-old Kollam was travelling during the night after his show along with his friends. He was sat in the passenger seat in front. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the Etios and it ended up colliding with a Mahindra truck.

The impact was so huge that the entire front section of the sedan has been dilapidated. The actor lost his life on the spot while the 3 others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The airbags were deployed. We are not sure if the actor was wearing a seatbelt. The bumper, bonnet, radiator grille, fenders, headlamps and engine bay have been affected. However, the side pillars have absorbed the impact quite well.

Toyota Etios NCAP Report
Toyota Etios was tested by Global NCAP back in 2016. It used to come equipped with 2 airbags and 2 pretensioners. It scored an impressive 4-star rating scoring 13 points out of 19 in adult protection and 20.02 points out of 49 for child occupant protection (2 stars in this category). In adult protection, the heads of the driver and passengers were well protected by the airbags and seatbelts for frontal impact and the structure was declared to be able to withstand further loadings. The child seat for a 1.5-year-old was able to prevent excessive forward movement during impact but for the 3-year-old, it was not the case.
