The Kawasaki Z900RS pays tribute to the Z1. It flaunts classic styling while at the same time using modern technology. It is powered by a liquid-cooled 900cc, an in-line four-cylinder engine capable of churning out 111 BHP.
Kawasaki has launched the Z900RS retro-naked bike in India. It is priced at INR 15.3 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kawasaki Z900RS pays tribute to the iconic Kawasaki Z1. It gets classic styling while at the same time modern engineering at its core. A 900cc, liquid cooled engine powers the Z900RS. This in-line four-cylinder motor churns out 111 BHP of power. The Kawasaki Z900 uses the same engine. However. the power and torque figures as slightly down. In the Z900, this engine belts out 125 BHP. A 6-speed transmission is on offer.
The Z900RS is available in India on a booking only basis. This results in the high price tag. The retro-roadster comes with traction control as standard. 300 mm front disk brakes with radial mounted callipers are also a standard fitment on this bike.

The bike comes with an analogue instrument cluster that houses two dials (for speed and engine rpm) with a centrally positioned digital screen. This screen comes with an off switch; to give the bike a more classic feel. However, it displays important information like fuel reading, average fuel consumption, range, coolant temperature among the others.
Kawasaki has reworked the Z900Rs’s frame. This helps in accommodating bike’s fuel tank. This leads to a flat seat and tail section. The Kawasaki Z900RS comes with LED lights, both at the front and back. That said, these bulbs are positioned in such a way that they resemble the illumination of a regular lamp. In addition to that, the wheels come with flat spokes that match the classic spokes, giving the bike a retro appeal. The bike comes with inverted fork suspension up-front. At the rear, it comes with horizontal back-link, gas-charged shock absorbers.

The price tag of the Z900RS is quite close to the Z1000R. The automaker does not expect to sell the Z900RS is huge numbers, hence it is currently selling the bike on a pre-order basis only. Deliveries will start by the month of July 2018.
