The much-awaited Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR has been launched in India a few days after it was officially teased. Ninja is arguably among the biggest names in our country when it comes to sportbikes. Many prominent celebrities, as well as riding enthusiasts, swear by its name. Note that the ZX-4RR is a slightly more performance-oriented iteration of the ZX-4R with a few tweaks to the mechanicals. The external appearance of the Ninja ZX-4RR is quite striking and typical of a sporty motorcycle. It gets twin LED headlamps and LED taillamp, a forward-leaning aggressive stance, a slim fuel tank, Ram Air intake, a compact handlebar, a prominent windshield, attractive body graphics, a side fairing which enhances the road presence, a large exhaust pipe, a split-seat setup, a sleek tail section, sporty black alloy wheels with broad tyres at the front and rear and an underbelly protector. All in all, it certainly looks like a proper superbike.

The biggest talking point about the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is its performance. It is facilitated by a 399-cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected 4-stroke in-line four engine which generates a cool 77 PS (57 kW) @14,500 RPM [80 PS (58.7 kW) with Ram Air Intake] and 39 Nm @13,000 RPM of peak power and torque. There is a 6-speed return shift transmission which propels the 189 kg-bike. The fuel tank capacity is 15 litre, the ground clearance is 135 mm and the wheelbase is a decent 1,380 mm. It gets the Trellis frame, single A-Arm with twin shock absorbers with 120 mm travel at the front and 37 mm Horizontal Back-link, BFRC lite gas-charged shock absorber with piggyback reservoir at the rear. The front and rear brakes are 290 mm and 220 mm discs, respectively. The sporstbike retails for Rs 9.10 lakh, ex-showroom.
