Bajaj and Kawasaki together were the first ones to bring the first 250 CC superbike Kawasaki Ninja 250R into the Indian Automobile market. Priced at an astonishing Rs. 2.75 Lakh , the bike was too pricy for any customer and due to the same reason it could not do much in the market.
With the consideration of decent sales in mind the company started working out ways for launching a more powerful model, Kawasaki Ninja 650R and with the latest news in hand the bike could be launched anytime during May – June 2011. So in short the company is all geared up to make yet another move in the superbike segment, but whether it yields expected results or not, is still to be seen.
Considering the 650 ccc segment Hyosung is also planning to launch Hyosung 650R but taking into account the global impression that Ninja has, it should record a win over the Hyosung counterpart. Briefing you with the technical details of this bike, it sports a 650 CC parallel twin engine with a maximum power output of 70 BHP and maximum torque of 66 Nm, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox.
With no confirmation about whether the bike will be sold as CBU or CKD unit, the exact price cannot be determined but expectations are between Rs.5.2 and Rs. 7.5 Lakh.
We do not wish Ninja to remain unnoticed this time as well and want the bike to be seen on the Indian roads more often. It would so amazing to see such superbikes running on the city roads and turning heads while passing by.
