Hindustan Contessa
In the Indian context, the Hindustan Contessa is among the most iconic vehicles of the 1980s and 1990s. Based on the Vauxhall VX Series of the 1976-78, it entered our market back in 1983 and instantly became a desirable vehicle. In fact, it even became popular among the government officials. It bears a long hood and tail design, reminiscent of vintage American muscle cars. This has to be a restored version of the Contessa as it has been out of production since 2022.

Specs
There were multiple engines powering the Hindustan Contessa during its lifecycle. This started with a 1.5-litre BMC B-Series engine which produced a decent 50 hp with a 4-speed transmission. It is the same engine which also propelled the iconic Hindustan Ambassador. In its last version, it used to be powered by a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder Isuzu engine with a SOHC with carburettor. It was good for a healthy 88 hp in the imported version and 75 hp for the locally-developed iteration along with 135 Nm of peak power and torque. It had a 5-speed manual transmission. We are not sure which model Karan went for. In any case, it is an enticing addition to his opulent garage.
