The new Jeep Wrangler will be launched in India on August 9. The new Wrangler comes with bold new styling, completely refreshed interiors and better offroad capabilities.
After months of spying and speculation, Jeep has finally announced that they will be launching the next-generation 2020 Wrangler JL in India on August 9. It is expected that the Wrangler will come here in top-spec Rubicon trim only but for some technical reason, Jeep is calling it the Wrangler Moab here in India. The Moab is the name of an exterior package for the Wrangler in the international market.
The Jeep Wrangler has been re-engineered from grounds up. It continues with a ladder frame chassis but it is much lighter than before. The Wrangler has also grown in length which has allowed for more space on the interiors as well. While most of the body of the Wrangler uses high-strength steel, it has shed some weight by using aluminum in the hood, doors, and windshield frame and magnesium for the tail gate.
It comes with improved off-road credentials too and in that context, gets a entire array of off-road hardware. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler comes with improved approach and departure angles, 277mm of ground clearance, electric front- and rear-axle locks, a limited-slip differential and up to 30 inches of water fording ability.
In terms of styling, the Wrangler is readily identifiable as to what it is. It retains every bit of its character which are only further accentuated by the modern touches like the slightly tweaked seven-slat grille and new LED-equipped round headlamps. Its also very configurable in a number of unique ways in how you can set up the roof, remove the quarter panels, the doors, and tilt down the windscreen frame.
On the inside, the changes are the most comprehensive. It still retains the upright stance on the inside but has been redesigned from scratch and it looks fresh and contemporary. The geometric, retro-themed styling on the inside works really well and its much more feature equipped now including a touchscreen infotainment system and better ergonomics.

We are also expecting both the three-door and five-door body styles of the Jeep Wrangler to be offered here in India. That will just widen the scope of the Wrangler and make it more affordable too. The Jeep Wrangler is an absolute icon when it comes to off-roading and in its brand new form, we can’t wait to see it on our roads.
