The Fortuner’s ARAI-tested mileage numbers for petrol engine stand at 8 KMPL for manual gearbox and 9 KMPL for automatic gearbox. There are good chances the Compass will have higher numbers than these. In the case of diesel engines, the Fortuner tails behind the Compass with 11 KMPL mileage for automatic gearbox and 12 KMPL for manual gearbox. The diesel Compass is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox only (for now) and its mileage in 4×2 version is 17.1 KMPL, dropping slightly to 16.3 KMPL in 4×4 version.
