Jeep Compass Trailhawk is long due for launch. Now, we get the information that its production has commenced and the launch will happen in the early months of 2019.
Jeep Compass made a debut in India in 2017 and has been one of the popular models in its segment. Compass is amongst the entry-level products of the powerful Jeep family and that’s one reason for people to prefer it more. As of now, it has 4 variants in the lineup – Sport, Longitude, Limited and Limited Plus. Limited Plus variant was recently launched as the top-end variant. However, its long-pending top-end variant, Trailhawk is finally launching in early 2019. As per online reports, its production has already begun and a photo has been leaked. This will be the cheapest Trailhawk after its launch.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk is an off-road focused version of the regular Compass. For that, it gets some off-roading feature additions as well as some mechanical changes. A couple of weeks back, 3 test mules were spotted parked with heavy camouflage.

In the front, it also gets the red tow-hooks for better off-roading abilities. The ground clearance of the SUV is no higher by 20mm.
Other than these, there are some visual upgrades as well. It gets 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheel, skid plates at the front as well as back and a contrasting black roof. Inside the cabin, Jeep Compass Trailhawk gets an all-black themed interior upholstery. It seems to look a bit sportier than other Compass variants.

Trailhawk will continue with the same feature list of the Limited Plus variant. So, premium highlights like an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment, panoramic sunroof, cruise control and more will be equipped. The global-spec Compass Trailhawk gets front parking sensors, which might come in the India-spec too.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk will come in diesel-auto combination, which is the first of all Compass variants. It will get the 2.0 Litre Multijet diesel engine that taps out 170 BHP and 350 Nm. The engine pairs up with a 9-speed automatic as standard fitment. Although, we feel that it might come with BS-6 compliant engines and that is one of the primary reasons for the delay.
