The Jeep Compass Sport Plus variant is going to sit as an entry-level variant and has been launched in the wake of rising competition in the segment.
FCA has today launched the Jeep Compass with an all-new ‘Sport Plus’ variant. It is going to sit as an entry-level option in the SUV’s range. And has been priced at INR 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The ‘Sport Plus’ variant comes with several new features. These include 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors and roof-rails. This is in addition to the 21 key features, including the Electric Parking Brake, Disc Brakes on all four wheels and the sophisticated Frequency Selective Damping, which also come standard across the entire Jeep Compass range.

The ‘Sport Plus’ variant of the Jeep Compass will be available with a choice of two engine options. One is going to be the 2.0-litre, diesel engine while the other the 1.4-litre, petrol unit. The diesel engine is good for churning out 170 BHP of power along with 350 Nm of peak torque.
The petrol engine is good for churning out 160 BHP of power along with 250 Nm of peak torque. The former is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. While the later will also get a 6-speed manual unit. There is no automatic transmission option on offer in the ‘Sport Plus’ variant. The diesel engine is good for 17.1 km/l of fuel efficiency, while the petrol promises to deliver 14.1 km/l.
