A strange case has emerged where a Jeep Compass and Tata Nexon were involved in a serious crash. Both these are renowned SUVs with rugged build quality. The Jeep is a premium mid-size SUV that people buy for its incredible driving dynamics. It even gets a sophisticated 4×4 drivetrain to enable the occupants to travel to remote parts of the country. On the other hand, Nexon is one of the most successful compact SUVs in the country. It has secured a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. For now, let us take a look at the details of this unfortunate incident.
Jeep Compass and Tata Nexon Crash
This video stems from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. The host mentions that this crash took place somewhere in Punjab, as indicated by the registration plates of the SUVs involved. As per the information in the video, the Jeep Compass collided with the divider at high speed which is why it toppled over after the impact and landed on the other side. For some reason, the Tata Nexon also hit the divider on the other side. It is not clear how these two impacted each other. Perhaps, the driver of the Nexon steered hard to avoid hitting the Compass.
As a result, the front section of the Nexon suffered damage and its airbags were also deployed. On the other hand, the force with which the Compass hit the divider was so high that its front axle was broken and the tyre came off. There are other dents visible on the exterior of the SUV as well. In fact, in the Compass, even the side airbags have been deployed. That is a testament to the severity of the crash. The video also mentions that no one was injured in this case. That is quite impressive since the accident was relatively serious.
Our View
I have been reporting about car accidents for a long time now. In most cases, overspeeding is the leading cause of crashes. That leads to the deaths of lakhs of people in India each year. It is high time we start following the traffic regulations vehemently. Also, make sure to encourage everyone around you to do the same. That is the only way to ensure our safety and make our roads safer than they currently are. Finally, I would like to advise our readers to report those people to the authorities who flout these regulations so that appropriate action can be taken against them. Let us pledge to be responsible road users.
