Jeep Compass Hits Divider and 5 Poles
The video has been posted by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel. He regularly posts such content in order to raise awareness among Indian car buyers regarding the importance of investing in cars with high safety ratings. In this video, a Compass has been shown in a dilapidated condition. According to the information in the video, the steering and the brakes of the SUV failed while moving. As a result, the driver lost control and ended up hitting a divider and then 5 electric poles. The reason for the malfunction of such critical systems is not known at the moment.

The result can be seen in the visuals. It is seen lying on the side of the road with significant damage. However, the most impressive part of this accident is the fact that no one (4 passengers were travelling) was severely injured in the crash. It is hard to believe considering the severity of the crash. The roof, windshield, body panels, doors, bumper, grille, headlights, etc. are all broken but the side pillars and roof absorbed a lot of impact preventing the damage to the passengers. It reflects the sturdy build of the SUV.

Jeep Compass comes with both diesel and petrol powertrain options. The petrol is a 1.4-litre turbocharged unit that outputs 160 hp and 250 Nm of peak power and torque. The diesel, on the other hand, comes with a 2.0-litre mill churning out 168 hp and 350 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. Both these engines could be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 4×4 drive system is available with only the diesel unit. The prices of the Compass start at Rs 19.29 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 30.84 lakh, ex-showroom.
