Dealership bookings and test rides of Jawa and Jawa 42 will commence from 15th December. The deliveries of the bikes will commence by January 2019. Both the bikes are currently on display at select dealerships.
Much-awaited Jawa Motorcycles have made a grand comeback in India. The lineup contains three new motorcycles – Jawa. Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. Perak is a custom Bobber, which will be launched later.
Currently, various dealerships are set across the country. Some are open, some are scheduled to open this month, while others will open up by March next year. There will be total 104 dealerships spread across the country.
Currently, online bookings for both the bikes are going on at a booking amount of Rs 5,000. The payment shall be done online through various modes of payment. The booking amount is fully refundable.

From 15th December, bookings at the dealership level will begin. With that, the customer test rides of both the bikes will also begin from this Saturday.
The bookings for Jawa and Jawa 42 have increased rapidly as the waiting period has gone up to 2 months. Deliveries of the first batch will commence from January 2019.
Jawa Perak is most likely to launch by mid-2019. It is a factory-custom Bobber motorcycle, equipped with a more powerful 321cc engine. Perak is the most expensive out of the three motorcycles.
Jawa is the refreshed version of the classic old Jawa. Literally, most of the design elements like the retro front cowl, twin-pea shooters, chrome detailing, single pod instrument cluster and lots of chrome inputs are copied from the older model.

Jawa 42 is a modern version of the new Jawa. Type 42 gets Matte finish colours and some modern fits and finishes. It classifies more like a modern Classic Roadster.
Both the motorcycles use the same engine. They get a 293cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine, that is BS-6 compliant. It produces 27 BHP of max. power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs up with a 6-speed gearbox.
For braking purposes, both the bikes get a 280mm disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. They also get single-channel ABS setup as standard fitment. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.

Jawa 42 is priced the lowest at Rs 1.55 Lakhs, followed by Jawa at Rs 1.64 Lakhs and Perak at Rs 1.89 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
