2015 model Japanese Suzuki Alto has been spotted in India
Regulars here would remember that we reported in detail when the all-new Japanese Suzuki Alto 2015-model Kei car was unveiled towards the end of last year. The 2015 Suzuki Alto has been on sale in the Japanese Domestic Market since some months now and while the car has garnered decent popularity, its India launch doesn’t seem to be anywhere in the offing. However, the Japanese Suzuki Alto images that you see here have been taken in India and rumour mills have already started churning out reports on the Japanese Suzuki Alto’s launch prospects in India. Design
As can be made out from the images that we have here, the JDM Alto boasts of a retro look and the highlights of the car’s exterior are its large headlamps and a chunky bumper. The talking point of the car’s front-end design though are the classic-styled slits that replace a conventional radiator grille. When seen in side profile, the car has hints of the AStar in it. At the rear, the design gets even more understated and the highlight here are the bumper-mounted combination lamps. Another very classic touch! The car gets an airy cabin and Suzuki has made used light tones for upholstery and dashboard-inserts to enhance the feeling of spaciousness. The car gets a dashboard-mounted gear-lever and an instrument panel that has a minimalistic look.

Engine
Powering the 2015 Alto is a 660 cc three-pot petrol engine that comes mated with a five-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional CVT. Also available in JDM is a Turbo RS version that gets 17-inch mags, Recaro sports seats and some stickers to announce the car’s ‘performance’ credentials.

Launch
While MSIL has imported a batch of these cars, we don’t see the 2015 Japanese Suzuki Alto India launch being anywhere in the offing. The car could be here strictly for R&D purposes, probably for testing new parts or components.
