The all-new Japanese Suzuki Alto 2015 Kei car has been unveiled through a set of pictures and some details. The launch of the new model Alto for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) will take place in a week’s time on December 22 and here, in this report, we have come up with all the important information on the latest Kei car from the popular small car manufacturer. Check them out!
Exterior Design
As is evident from the images we have here, Suzuki has decided to go the retro way for its new Alto! The latest mini car’s exterior boasts of large headlamps and a large bumper that has a minimalistic design. The highlight here though, are the classic-styled slits, which replace a conventional front grille. In side profile, the latest generation JDM Alto looks slightly like the AStar* we all know of, especially towards the C-pillar. The car gets really understated looks at the rear, with the highlight being bumper-mounted combination lamps, another classic touch!

Interior Design
In terms of design, the interior of the 2015 Alto is a reflection of the exterior! As can be seen in the above image, the design continues to be simplistic. The latest mini car from Suzuki can seat four passengers in adequate comfort and Suzuki has ensured that the cabin feels airy by usage of light tones for upholstery and dashboard-inserts. Highlight of the car’s cabin is the dashboard-mounted gear-lever. The instrument panel too has a minimalistic look and comprises of an analogue speedo and a multi-information display.
Engine
The 2015 Alto is powered by a 660cc three-cylinder petrol engine that will be available in Normally Aspirated (NA) and turbocharged versions. The low-capacity motor will come mated with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a CVT will be offered as an option. The car will be available in both Front Wheel Drive and Four Wheel Drive formats.
Also, the manufacturer has come up with a Turbo RS version of the new Alto, which will make its public debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon next month. The Turbo RS Concept will come with 17-inch alloys, Recaro sports seats and a handful of stickers that will announce its ‘performance’ credentials. While the specs aren’t out yet, the car will get a turbocharged version of the std. Alto’s 660cc motor.
