Jaguar has launched diesel variants of the XE sedan in India. Their cheapest offering in India is now available with a 2.0 L diesel engine in three trims. Prices of Jaguar XE Diesel start at Rs. 38.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). That translates to a difference of about one lakh Rupees between the diesel and petrol variants. The introduction of XE diesel ensures all Jaguar products on sale in India now come with a diesel engine option. Prices start at Rs. 38.25 lakh for the base Pure trim. Jaguar has priced the Prestige and Portfolio trims at Rs. 42.04 lakh and Rs. 46.34 lakh respectively. Interestingly, along with the launch of the diesel XE, Jaguar has given the petrol variants a massive price cut. As opposed to the earlier starting price of Rs. 39.90 lakh, the Jaguar XE Petrol Pure trim now costs Rs. 37.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The XE diesel is powered by a 2.0 L engine from Jaguar’s Ingenium family. Peak power and torque stand at 180 HP and 430 Nm respectively. Jaguar claims the XE will do 0-100 KMPH in 7.8 seconds. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
