Following the success of the i-Pace, Jaguar has revealed their plans with their future products. The focus will definitely be on hybrids and electric cars but they will continue to make petrol and diesel cars as well.
As electric vehicles take over the next generation of automobiles, Jaguar has been one of the leading brands in pioneering electric technology for the future. The Jaguar I-pace has already won accolades over the world and Jaguar has no intentions of slowing down with their electric cars. They are also one of the first brands to have already defined their electric road map for the future.
Speaking to jurors at a closed door event at its Coventry Design Studio in the UK following the I-Pace’s series of victories at the World Car Awards 2019 in April, Jaguar’s company heads revealed the luxury carmaker’s plans going forward.
Jaguar has clearly said their focus is going to be on hybrid and electric vehicles. These vehicles will be built in the UK as Jaguar has plans for localizing EV manufacturing in the UK. They have already started working on the next generation XJ which will be a fully electric. Having said that, they are not going to completely shut making petrol and diesel powered cars. For the loyal customers who prefer internal combustion engines, the company will certainly have some in its line-up.
Jaguar is also considering ‘electrified versions’ of all their models, starting from as early as 2020. Other models in the pipeline are the replacements for the current XE and F-TYPE, and an all-new J-PACE SUV. There are even some affordable ‘Baby Jags’ rumored to be called the A-Pace and the B-Pace on the cards for the future as well.
