Jaguar has already listed the F-Pace SVR in the company’s India website and there are words of some select dealerships already accepting bookings for the SUV.
When any Jaguar model gets an SVR suffix, you know its a special car. Jaguar globally debuted the F-Pace SVR at the 2018 New York Auto Show and now, the company has listed this performance SUV on their Indian website. This only means one thing – the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is coming to India. There are also words about select dealers accepting bookings for the new model with deliveries slated for 2020.
The F-Pace SVR has been engineered by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division and it comes with more power and enhanced performance. It gets a 44% hike in power output over the standard model. It also comes with several cosmetic tweaks which not only makes the F-Pace look more aggressive and sporty, but it also improves the aerodynamic efficiency of the SUV. There has been modifications to the chassis as well.
The rear change though has been under the hood. The Jaguar F-Pace SVR gets the top-of-the-line 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 engine that develops 542 bhp between 6000-6500 rpm and a meaty 680 Nm of peak torque available between 2500-5500 rpm. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a SportShift Selector. The Jaguar F-Pace SVR can sprint from 0-100 kph injust 4.3 seconds and has a top-speed of 283 kph.
To be able to handle all this extra power and performance, JLR’s SVO division has upgraded the chassis and made the front and rear springs stiffer by 30% and 10% respectively. The SUV also gets anti-roll bar that reduces body roll by 5%. It also gets larger brakes with 395 mm front and rear discs for improved stopping power. The F-Pace SVR comes with quad-exhaust tips with an Active Exhaust System and a Variable Valve Active Exhaust System for a sound note that is simply exhilarating.

The Jaguar F-Pace SVR is indeed a very handsome looking car. Up front, the SUV gets larger air intakes along with vents on the side fenders that lower pressure on the wheel arches and reduce lift while offering improved high-speed stability. It also gets an SVR body kit, Lozenge quilted leather upholstery with SVR embossing, carbon fiber inserts, SVR steering wheel and aluminium paddle shifters. The SUV rides 21-inch forged alloy wheels that are 25 mm wider at the rear for better handling.

Currently, Jaguar offers the standard F-Pace in India with just one petrol engine option and prices for the same start from Rs. 63 lakhs, ex-showroom. You can expect the F-Pace SVR to be priced well over Rs. 1 crore, but it will still be substantially cheaper than the Range Rover SVR that is also on sale in the country. Jaguar Land Rover India is yet to officially announce the launch date for the F-Pace SVR in India.
