Talking about the most expensive car parking space in India is not a common topic. But there are certain times when situations are so extraordinary that it becomes exciting to discuss them. This is one such case. We know that parking is a huge issue in most parts of the country. This problem is typically seen in major cities, as well as Tier-2 cities. As the number of cars on the road is increasing, the city streets are getting more congested. Hence, the need to create new parking spaces is of paramount importance. Let us dive into the details of this latest case.
India’s Most Expensive Car Parking Space
This post comes from vishal.bhargava.710 on Instagram. The host in the video mentions that India’s most expensive car parking space has a price tag of a whopping Rs 40 lakh! The description in the video mentions that this is more than the price of 98.5% of cars sold in India. This parking is in a sea-facing building in Worli, Mumbai. At this location, homes have been bought for over Rs 100 Crore. The size of this parking lot is 180 sqft. One could park a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or 3 Maruti Swifts. The caption of this post even says that this amount is equal to the price of homes in several of India’s Tier 2 cities.
Needless to say, this post is doing rounds on social media. The netizens have been commenting various things. Some of the top comments that caught my eye are “Mumbai is overhyped in market of real estate ….. Correction will after some share market crash or big war….”, “Can we just buy parking and skip the home and sleep in car?”, “Well the average price for a car parking is ranging from 10 to 20 lakh in almost all part of mumbai too”, “Govt should bring law to make car parking space free mandatory for every flat….”
Our View
I am not surprised by this incident one bit. The cost of property, particularly in the biggest cities in India, has gone through the roof in recent years. The purchasing power and living standards of people have been rising consistently. As a result, we get to witness such bizarrely expensive items. Also, considering the kind of luxury cars bought by celebrities in the country, I believe people won’t mind paying this to accommodate a car worth crores. In any case, we shall keep an eye out for more such instances.
