This video comes from DCV Expeditions on YouTube. The host interacts with the person who created this contraption. In essence, the entire mechanical setup of this Bolero is altered. This includes engine, transmission, suspension, lift kit and other off-roading hardware. To enhance the ground clearance, the bumpers have been removed. There are colossal tyres with a lift kit which ensures that the underbelly never scrapes the surface. The shafts for suspension and differentials allow immense wheel articulation while the sway bar keeps the SUV flat irrespective of the undulations on the ground.

At one point, the slope is extreme which would make any other car topple over. However, the wheel articulation on this Bolero takes it in its stride and gets out of that situation without breaking sweat. All in all, the owner spent close to Rs 13 lakh on these modifications to make this humble Bolero into a monster.

Author’s Note
Such extreme modifications should only be done if you have some professional mechanics. Moreover, almost all car customizations are illegal in our country. Hence, if you opt for such mods, you will not be able to drive it on road. That is something you must keep in mind. If you just want a hardcore off-roader to drive in remote locations, there is no issue. Also, if this is your passion project, it is fine. But if you intend to drive it on the roads, we won’t recommend it at all. In fact, you will attract unwanted attention from the traffic cops. Hence, don’t try such mods.
